During
the early part of 1996 my wife to be, Linda, and I had just
started our second extended road trip in 4 years.
We were spending the winter in Savannah, GA. I was inspired to
call an old friend of mine, Mark S., who I hadn’t talked
to in maybe 3 or 4 years. During the conversation Mark told me
that he had a dream in which I was interviewing him on a radio
show. I had been aware for a long time that Mark had precognitive
dreams that were extremely accurate, however, this dream I had
a hard time believing in.
Linda
and I returned to Santa Fe, NM around Christmas of 1996, as
husband and wife. I obtained a job
almost immediately upon
my return, as a counselor in a long term adolescent treatment
center. Troubles involving my work situation began when managed
care came to NM in the early part of 1997. By this time Mark
and I had not only reconnected, our friendship had grown to
a whole new level. This led me to contact Mark, to get his
input
on what he thought I should do. The outcome of that conversation
led to my becoming a Minister and founding Church of the One
God. I
received my ordination on September 15, 1997. On August 27,
1998, Church of the One God met the requirements
for obtaining
tax-exempt status, 501(c)(3), from the Internal Revenue Service.
Once Church of the One God was recognized by the IRS, I went
about creating the forerunner of the website you are now viewing.
The purpose of the website was to carry a message of hope, that
by working and walking a Spiritual program, any individual could
change their life significantly for the better. In early February,
1999, the conversation I had with Mark 3 years earlier came to
mind. I realized that a radio show would be an excellent vehicle
to carry the Creator’s message of hope. I contacted the
local community public radio station, KSFR, 90.7 FM, and proposed
to the program director, Tom C., a show based upon my website.
Tom showed me how to translate my website into a format that
would work on the radio.
The
fruits of that effort became my first radio show, “Good
Company”. “Good Company” was a 30 minute talk
show that aired on Saturday afternoons. It aired weekly from
June 5, 1999 until August 25, 2001. After a brief hiatus, I returned
to the air waves on October 17, 2001 with “Words of the
Prophets”, a 60 minute talk show that encourages listener
participation. Since it’s inception “Words of the
Prophets” has experienced several time slot changes. It
currently airs, on 101.1 FM, every Saturday afternoon for
30 minutes, starting at 12:30 PM, MST. It also streams live on
the internet. There is a link on the home page of this site to
the streaming address. The stated purposes for both “Good
Company” and “Words of the Prophets” are;
- To introduce the listening audience to as many
as possible of the wide variety of religious and spiritual
paths that are available to them.
- To familiarize the listening
audience to the guiding principles that are taught
by each of those paths.
- To discuss how the listening audience can put into
practice, in all phases of their daily lives, the principles
espoused by those paths.
In keeping
with Church of the One God’s mission of carrying
a message of hope for change by the implementation of Spiritual
Principles, I am posting on this page numerous “Good Company” and “Words
of the Prophets” shows. They are in mp3 format and you
can either stream them or download them just by clicking on the
show you wish to hear. Feel free to make copies of them and share
them with your family and friends. Also, to assist you in your
spiritual quest, there are copies of the show’s outline
that you can access and print. The shows are listed alphabetically
by guest. Along with the guest’s name are the show’s
prophetic topic and the date it aired.
